Hype Dance Company

We hold auditions annually at the beginning of the school year, usually toward the end of September. Auditions are a 2 day process. On Day 1 you will learn two dances, and Day 2, you will audition the choreography learned the day before, along with a 45 second routine of your choice.

Not at all! We’re looking for dancers who are excited to learn, grow, and show their personality. Many of our members do not have formal dance experience!

Not necessarily! While HYPE is affiliated with the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee as a student organization, non-students may also audition and participate. However, we are required to maintain a certain percentage of UWM student members.

We hold open practices most Mondays during the season, where anyone can come learn a piece with us. DM us on Instagram to confirm that practice is open that week and that it’s a good day to join us! You can also come support HYPE at our semesterly showcases and see what we’ve been working on!

We love having other dance groups and performers join us for our showcases! If you’re interested in performing, reach out to us on Instagram and send us some examples of your work. We’d love to hear from you!

The best way to reach us is by DMing us on Instagram, @hypedancemke. However, you can also email us at hypedanceinfo@gmail.com and we will get back to you as soon as we can!
